Customs Court hears 26 cases on Wednesday

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling heard 26 important cases on Wednesday and issued necessary orders and directions on many cases.

On Wednesday, in the court of Chaudary Ameer Muhamamd Khan, a total of 26 cases were scheduled for hearing, including nine pre-arrest bail pleas of accused persons Muhammad Asghar versus state, Muhammad Shahzad, Haseeb Ali, Darya Khan and Fiaz Ahmad. The court extended bail pleas for new dates.

Customs Court also extended judicial remand of the accused Humayon Rasheed.  Humayon Rasheed was arrested by the Customs Intelligence in a case of smuggling and he was produced before the court where after expiry of his judicial remand, the court ordered to send him  jail on further judicial trial.

Customs Court also adjourned many cases of witnesses on cases of smuggling. Total six cases were scheduled for the day hearing.

The cases, including tax evasion, customs, smuggling and narcotics, were scheduled for the day.
