LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling heard 24 important cases on Wednesday, including pre-arrest bail pleas of the accused.
These cases, including those of tax evasion, customs, smuggling and narcotics, were scheduled for the day’s hearing.
Five cases of pre-arrest bail pleas were also scheduled, in which Arif Mahmood, Azad Ahmad, Sardar Muhammad, Muhammad Amir and Abdul Aleem approached the Customs Court to seek their pre-arrest bails. The court reserved judgement on their pre-arrest bail pleas.
The Court also recorded statements of witnesses in six different cases on Wednesday.
Cases of smuggling were also part of the day’s schedule in which the court recorded the statements of the parties. In some cases, the Customs Court recorded witnesses’ statements and issued necessary directives.
