LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling heard 29 important cases on Saturday and adjourns most the cases.
On Saturday, a total of 29 cases of different types were scheduled for hearing, including pre-arrest bail pleas of accused persons. The court adjourned bail pleas of Tauqeer Butt and Nasir Hussain until the next hearing of the cases. In a case of alleged smuggling, the court of Chaudhry Ameer Muhammad Khan approved a bail plea of Shaukat Ali in tax evasion. The court accepted the bail against guarantee of cash and property documents.
Customs Court also adjourned many cases of witnesses on cases of smuggling. The cases, including tax evasion, customs, smuggling and narcotics, were scheduled for the day.
The court also proceeded on statements and witnesses on four different cases on the day. The cases of Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Jhelum were scheduled for the day.
