Customs Court issues arrest warrants for alleged smuggler

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has issued arrest warrants for alleged smuggler, Muhammad Asif, and ordered him to appear before the court within 30 days otherwise he will be declared as proclaimed offender.

Sources told Customs Today that Sheikh Muhammad Asif Azad son of Muhammad Ramzan is a resident of Kotla Tolay Khan Multan. He is wanted in a smuggling case. The Customs Court summoned the accused repeatedly but he did not appear before the court.

Now, Special Judge Chaudhary Ameer Muhammad Khan has issued a final notice to the accused directing him to appear before the court within 30 days otherwise he will be declared as proclaimed offender and his movable or immovable property will be seized too.

A case was registered against , Muhammad Asif Azad by the Multan Customs Intelligence. FIR was registered in December 2013 against him but he is still at large.
