Gwadar Customs seizes drugs, Iranian grease and brake oil

KARACHI: Gwadar Customs Colletorate has seized a huge quantity of drugs, Iranian grease and cartons of brake oil during two successful raids in the area of Shama Zai.

Customs Collector Saeed Akram received information that a huge quantity of drugs were smuggled from Gwadar  through a truck. Consequently, he instructed the deputy director to form a team under his own supervision and establish check-posts at the exit point of the city. During the checking of vehicles, the team intercepted a truck and found 200 packets of charas which were hidden behind the sakes of wheat.

The Customs officials seized the drugs the weight of recovered chars was 220 kilo grams. The team arrested three persons including driver who were involved in smuggling. Customs officials told that the value of seized drugs is more than Rs 10 million in international markets. During the interrogation accused revealed that this drugs brought in Gwadar through a boat and they have a plan to supply in others cities in three days.

In another action, Model Customs Collectorate has seized Iranian grease and break oil during a successful raid. According to Customs sources Collector Gwadar received information a consignment of smuggled items were brought in the warehouse which is located in the area of Nori Adda. The Collector formed a team under the supervision of deputy collector to curb the smuggling. The team raided at said place and during the search recovered 500 cartons of Iranian grease and more than 500 cartons of Iranian break oil. The Customs Intelligence officials seized the items and arrested the watchman who was present there at the time of raid. The ream sealed the warehouse and during investigation it revealed the owner of the warehouse is Farooq Ahmed and its house use for dumped the smuggle items. Customs Intelligence officials told that the value of seized items is more than Rs 2 million.
