KARACHI: Customs Court Judge Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi has issued non-bailable warrants for two suspects — Moazzam Mazhar Faruqui and Shujaat Ullah Khan — who were booked in a non-duty paid Toyota Land Cruiser jeep case.
During the hearing, Investigation Officer Muhammad Farooq submitted their interim challan before the court and informed that officials of the Anti-Smuggling Organization recovered Toyota Land Cruiser jeep bearing registration number FB-8154 model 1996 in Karachi on December 19, 2016.
He further informed the court that the vehicle was imported without payment of duty and taxes, therefore, the vehicle was seized and a case was registered against Moazzam Mazhar Faruqui and Shujaat Ullah Khan under section 2 (s) 32 and 178 of customs act, 1969 punishable under clauses (8) (89) and 14 of section 156 (i) ibid.
After the hearing, the court accepted the interim challan and issued non-bailable warrants against the accused. The court also directed the investigation officer to complete the investigation and submit a final challan within reasonable time.
