On October 17, the customs authorities confiscated 1,200 donkey hides and 2,500 kilograms of goat hair from a consignment destined for Hong Kong. M/s Nival International filed goods declaration of the consignment, which was declared to contain 2,500 kilograms of goat hair and 1,200 wet salted dry skins.

During physical examination, wet salted dry skins found to be donkey hides which could not be exported since the government placed a ban on their export. Therefore, the customs authorities registered a case against M/s Nival International’s proprietor Muhammad Arif and M/s Exports Services’ proprietors Nasir Mehmood and Muhammad Ibrahim under the Sections 16, 32(I), 131(7)(a), 168 and 209 of the Customs Act, 1969.
