Customs Court rejects bail plea of cell phones’ smuggler

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has rejected the bail plea of an accused who was arrested from Rahim Yar Khan Airport while making an attempt to smuggle mobile phones from Dubai to Pakistan.

Rizwan is in judicial custody of the Multan Customs Investigation and Prosecution after expiry of his physical remand.

As per details, accused, Muhammad Rizwan was arrested from Rahim Yar Khan Airport red handed when he was making an attempt to smuggle mobile phones of assorted brands. A customs team at the airport during checking of his luggage found 130 mobile phones of Samsung, Huawei and Apple brands, besides recovering 141 mobile phones batteries. The Multan Customs registered a case against him under the Pakistan Customs Act, 1969.

The Customs Court also directed the investigation team to prepare the complete challan of the case.
