Customs Court seeks challan of cloth, shoes’ smuggling case

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has directed the Gujranwala Customs Investigation and Prosecution team to submit the complete investigation challan in a case of cloth smuggling.

The Gujranwala Customs Intelligence officials arrested accused person named Saeedul Haq while they recovered a huge quantity of smuggled goods from a truck. The truck was being unloaded at his warehouse in nearby area of the Gujranwala city.

The Customs Intelligence recovered cloth, shoes and other items from the truck number IDT-3267. The items were smuggled from Afghanistan through Balochistan.

After arresting him, the customs officials produced him before the court and got his judicial remand. Later the accused filed bail plea which was accepted.

On Tuesday, the court while hearing the case ordered the officials to submit the challan in the case in next hearing.
