Customs Court seeks investigation challan of Rs 8m tax evasion case

LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has sought challan of Rs 8 million tax evasion case.

According to details, the Federal Board of Revenue Gujranwala unearthed mega scandal of sales tax and income tax. The authorities revealed that an accused namely Fazal Hussain made huge bank transactions but he never paid a single penny of tax.

After confirmation of the sources of his income and his bank transactions, the Inland Revenue of Gujranwala arrested him and found him involved in tax evasion of Rs 8 million.

Earlier, the Federal Court had rejected his bail plea as well. Customs Court after hearing both parties has issued 14 days judicial remand of the accused and sent him to jail for further prosecutions.
