LAHORE: The Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling sent an accused in cell phone smuggling case on a one-day judicial remand.
As per the details, accused Arslan Jaffery was arrested by customs officials at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore when he tried to smuggle 53 expensive cell phones of various brands from Bangkok to Lahore.
Customs authorities at the Lahore airport intercepted the passenger on suspicion and recovered illegally imported cell phones worth Rs 2.4 million while checking his luggage.
On Tuesday, Customs Intelligence and Investigation presented the accused in the court to get his two-day physical remand for interrogation, but the court granted only a one-day remand.
