Customs Court sent three suspects to jail involved in vehicles smuggling

MULTAN: The Special Judge Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has sent three suspects to jail on judicial remand and extended physical remand of main accused for three days for further investigations.

Sources told Customs Today, Multan Customs Investigation and Prosecution has produced three accused Khaliq Dad, Muhammad Anwar, Muhammad Qasim and Izzat ullah on charges of smuggling of foreign origin vehicles and various miscellaneous goods through Mazda truck.

It is pertinent to mention that Multan Customs Anti-smuggling Organization has arrested these four accused Khaliq Dad, Muhammad Anwar, Muhammad Qasim and Izzat ullah while making an attempt of smuggling foreign origin smuggled vehicles and goods loaded on the Mazda truck from Chowk Shah Abbas few days ago.

During raid of Multan Customs teams two different loaded Hino Mazda trucks having registration numbers of TKZ-246/Quetta and JV-3484/Sindh were seized in their action.

These intercepted Mazda trucks were loaded with smuggled vehicles including cigarettes, ready-made garments, blankets, carpets, jerseys, rugs and others. Customs found that all seized miscellaneous goods were concealed under vegetable truck and accused were escaping Customs staff that they are delivering vegetables. Multan Customs found that smuggled vehicles and goods were present under the cauliflower.  All these arrested accused belong to Lora Lai Baluchistan.

During investigations of Multan Customs Prosecution and Investigation (I&P) three accused Khaliq Dad,Muhammad Qasim and Izzat ullah have admitted that they were accompanying the said smuggled goods and vehicles.

Multan Customs have also completed their investigation from three accused and found that accused Muhammad Anwar got certain information regarding smuggling.

Multan Customs Investigation and Prosecution have requested Customs Judge for extension of physical remand of accused Muhammad Anwar to dig out smugglers network operating in the region. Customs Judge sent three accused to jail on Judicial and granted one accused Muhammad Anwar on three days physical remand .
