Customs Courts issues bailable warrant against preventive inspector

KARACHI: The Custom Court has issued bailable warrant against Iftikhar Hussain, Customs Preventive inspector, who is complainant in a case of attempting to smuggle mobile phones worth Rs 600, 000 from Dubai.

During the hearing, accused persons namely Muhammad Kashif was present on pre-arrest bail and Investigation Officer Azhar Mehdi was also present along with prosecution witness Muhammad Mushir; however, complainant of this case Iftikhar Hussain was called absent; therefore, the court issued bailable warrant against him.

The custom court also issued notices to the prosecution witnesses of this case for next date of hearing.

According to the prosecution, a case was registered against accused persons Muhammad Kashif, Muhammad Saad (absconding accused) on the charges of attempting to smuggle mobile phones valued at Rs 600, 000 from Dubai to Pakistan following the violation of clauses (59) (62) (86) and (82) of Section 156 (1) (8) of the Custom Act, 1969 by complainant Customs Preventive Inspector Iftikhar Hussain.
