Customs earns 1.5m through auction of seized items & vehicles

FAISALABAD: The Customs Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation has earned Rs15,20,000 through auction of non duty paid items and vehicles.

Sources told Customs Today that four out of eighteen lots were auctioned on December 17, 2017, while the bids for remaining fourteen lots were rejected by the competent authority due to the lower offers.

Customs sold a lot comprising 791.58 square meters of ceramic tiles against the bid of Rs4,10,000 approximately made in Iran, different brand of cigarettes Rs6,60,000 while the Toyota Corolla car bearing registration no: AAN-772 were auctioned by getting Rs4,50,000  this vehicle were seized in case no: 02/2017.

People from various cities have participated in the public sale. Moreover, the Customs Intelligence directorate already expedited its efforts to collect the outstanding dues from defaulters.  Customs Intelligence Officer Mansoor Nasir supervised the public sale.
