Customs employees facing uncertainty on new recruitment process‏

MULTAN: The Multan Custom employees are facing uncertain situation after direction of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to appear in recruitment test for the continuation of services.

The FBR  has directed those Customs employees who were recruited in the place of their parents who died during their services.

The FBR recruitment process for new staff is underway in Model of Customs Collectorate Multan and other Collectorates of Pakistan.

Customs employees are much disappointed on the decision of the FBR. As much as 13 employees of Model of Customs Collectorate Multan who are employed at various posts are facing uncertainty.

These employees have been serving for the last many years after their appointment in place of their fathers or relatives and they were employed on assistance package of the government. All employees are permanent employees of the Model of Customs Collectorate Multan. Employees concerns to give examination is raising with the passage of time and these permanent employees are asked to appear in test from Federal Board of Revenue. Recruitment test will be conducted through national testing services for the appointment of new customs employees.

Most of the employees are upper division clerk, lower division clerk and constables in Anti-smuggling Organization who are directed to appear in examination test. The Federal Board of Revenue directed them to follow the procedure of recruitment in order to continue their job.
