Customs Enforcement D.I. Khan seizes smuggled goods worth Rs51.8m

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: In a major crackdown against smuggling, the Customs Enforcement Division, Dera Ismail Khan, of the Collectorate of Customs Enforcement, Peshawar, has seized smuggled goods worth Rs.51.8 million.

In one operation Customs Enforcement, Dera Ismail Khan successfully intercepted two Bedford trucks and a Toyota Altis GLi car carrying smuggled tyres, medicines, and cigarettes of various brands.

The illicit consignments, along with the offending carrier vehicles, were seized. The total market value of the recovered goods and vehicles is estimated at PKR 48.8 million.

In a separate operation, Customs Enforcement D.I.Khan recovered smuggled items including cigarette paper, cigarettes, Teflon rods, and other miscellaneous goods from different passenger buses. The market value of the seized goods in this operation is estimated at PKR 3 million.

The cumulative market value of all seized goods, including offending carrier vehicles, stands at Rs51.8 million.

FBR remains committed to curb smuggling, protect legitimate trade, and safeguard the national economy through effective enforcement actions.
