Customs Export Section seizes 165 sacks of smuggling Urea on Torkham Border

PESHAWAR: The customs staff of the Export Section of Pakistan Customs posted on the Torkham Border has confiscated 165 bags of calcium ammonium nitrate Urea from a truck loaded with vegetables on the way to Pakistan on Friday at Khyber Agency.

The customs staff of the Export Section of Pakistan Customs was posted at the Export Section of the National Logistic Cell at Jamrud Trade Terminal.

The seizure was carried out on a secret information passed on to Collector Customs Mohammad Saeed Khan Jadoon about the presence of 165 bags of contraband item of Urea in the truck bearing registration No: KBL-1572.

Prior to the execution of action, Additional Collector Torkham Customs Station Zia Ullah Shams constituted a team under the supervision of Miss Sadaf Ali Shah, Assistance Collector, Tokham Customs Station.

The total weight of the seizure is 8,250kg and the price of per bag is Rs3000 to Rs4000.

The customs staff deputed on the Torkham Border arrested truck driver Shams-ur-Rehman who hails from Afghanistan.

An FIR has been lodged against him under the Customs Act-1969.
