KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate Exports has detected tax evasion amounting to Rs 834,000 on the export of onion through mis-declaration of PCT heading by Saima Traders.
As per details, the exporter filed a goods declaration and mentioned PCT Heading 0701, which was found wrong during examination by the officials of the collectorate.
Officials said that the correct PCT Heading for the onion was 0701: 9000, which attracted 25 percent regulatory duty.
After detecting the tax evasion, the Customs Export has registered a contravention case against the accused company under which evaded tax along with imposed fine will be recovered from the company.
