Customs Exports issues notice to recover Rs 4.3m

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate Export has issued notice to Raheel Enterprises and Export for recovery of Rs 2.678 million, besides serving a notice on Shobi Fertiliser to recover Rs 1.7 million taxes along with Rs 156,000 fine.

According to the documents, Raheel Enterprises and Export imported six consignments of various items in December and November which were cleared through the Model Customs Collectorate Export. It evaded duty/taxes and surcharges amounting to Rs over Rs 2.6 million on the import of these consignments.

Now, the colleectorate has issued notice to the company directing it to clear the outstanding amount within 14 days, otherwise legal action will be taken against the company to recover the outstanding amount.

Meanwhile, the department also issued notice to Shobi Fertiliser to pay Rs 156,000 fine along with actual amount of duty/taxes. The company evaded taxes amounting to Rs 1.7 million on two consignments imported during April 2016.
