KARACHI: The Customs Exports has started crackdown against tax defaulters and recovered Rs 82.6 million during the month of August 2016-17.
Customs Exports officials told Customs Today that the department decided 21 cases during August while collected millions of rupees from tax evaders. Sources said that the Customs Export issued show cause notices to 29 companies while 21 companies deposited their taxes during August. The department has collected Rs 82.6 million from tax evaders included Rs 69 million in the wake of misuse of SRO and Rs 13.7 million as fine. During the Eid holidays the result was not fruitful but now after vocations the department resume his work and started audit of four companies involved in tax evasion.
