Customs Exports recovers Rs 84.5m in 15 days

KARACHI: The Modal Customs Exports recovered Rs 84.5 million from various tax evaders during the first 15 days of June.

Customs exports informed Customs Today that the departments gear up the process of recovery as per end of this fiscal year. It is pertinent to mention here during the first 15 days of May customs exports recovered Rs 60 million in the wake of tax. The depart yesterday had issued notice to M/s Aslem Handicraft and Export which is involve in the tax evasion of Rs8.6 million . Customs Officials told that said company involve in tax evasion of surcharge tax, sales tax and some other taxes. The department had issued reminder notices to company during the last week of April and in second week of May but it remained failed to deposit their tax.

Therefore yesterday department issued final notice to M/s Aslem Handicraft and Export which is involve in tax evasion of Rs8.6 million in the wake of sales tax and some other taxes. The department warned the said companies if it will not deposit their tax within 14 days the department take strict action against it. Officials told that the final notice issued on the order of exports collectorate.
