Customs foils attempt to smuggle 47 kgs of hashish from Landi Kotal

KHYBER AGENCY: Custom officials and political administration recovered 47 kilogram hashish from an Afghanistan returned truck here at Torkham road of Tehsil Landi Kotal on Monday.

The political Tehsildar Shams-ul-Islam told Customs Today that on secret information that narcotics would be smuggled from Afghanistan to Pakistan via Torkham border, a special Khasadar party under his supervision was comprised that stopped Peshawar bound truck holding registration no.GLT-3208 for checking. During search 47 kilogram hashish and 25 kilogram opium were recovered, hided in various sections of the vehicle.

One drug peddler identified as Yar Muhammad, resident of Zakah Khel of Landi Kotal was detained and was put behind the bars for investigation, the official told.
