KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement East has foiled an attempt to import ready made garments by declaring it as used clothes.
Sources told Customs Today that the authorities received information regarding the mis-declaration of imported goods. During the examination process of a consignment, which was booked from Dubai Port for Karachi, M/s. Ever International imported ready made garments while declaring the consignment as of the used clothes.
Authorities immediately arrested the suspect from the scene. It is pertinent to mention here that prior to this, the customs authorities already foiled two bids to smuggle clothes.
