HYDERABAD: The Customs officials have foiled a bid to smuggle of narcotics and seized 177-kilogram charas from a car near Jacobabad.
According to Hyderabad Customs spokesman Muhammad Yaqoob Pasha, on a tipoff given by Collector Agha Shahid Majeed Khan, Sukkur Collector Zamzam Aman formed a team of Anti-Smuggling Squad to conduct the raid.
The team, supervised by Superintendent Ghulam Shabir Phulpota, intercepted a corolla GLI Car No: AYS-317 near Jacobabad, coming from Balochistan, and recovered 177-kilogram charas during the thorough search of the car. The team arrested driver Arif Iqbal and registered an FIR against him under relevant provisions of the Customs Act 1969.
