Customs Gwadar confiscates 10kg of hashish, five kg of hashish making chemicals

GWADAR: The Customs Collectorate Gwadar seized a big quantity of hashish and different chemicals for manufacturing hashish on Tuesday.

Sources told reporter that Deputy Collector Gwadar Junaid Mehmood constituted a team of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Fawaad Jatoe.

The team, during a search operation, intercepted a truck bearing registration No: MHJ-632 which was going to Thatta. During the search operation, the customs team found 10kg of hashish and five kg of different chemicals which were used to manufacture hashish worth Rs3.6million.

The customs team registered an FIR against the accused persons who were later identified as Zafir Shah and Zulfiqar Khan.

Sources said this is the 8th raid of Gwadar Customs during the month of January. It is pertinent to mention here that the Customs Collectorate has impounded several non-duty-paid luxury vehicles and a huge quantity of smuggled Iranian origin high speed diesel, non-duty-paid cameras, different electronics items, several bottles of wines, Indian silk, luxury vehicles’ chassis, plastic dana and other goods worth Rs52million during various raids in different areas of Gwadar during December 15, 2017 to January 15, 2018.
