KARACHI: Customs Collectorate Gwadar, during a successful operation against smugglers, recovered a huge quantity of non-duty paid Iranian diesel, while during another raid it seized Iranian brake oil.
Sources told Customs Today that Collector Saeed Akram received secret information about some smuggling attempts. He formed a team under the supervision of Deputy Collector Aftabullah Shah which included Inspector Waheedulah, Superintendent Preventive Khaliq Zaman and others. The customs team intercepted an oil tanker and recovered 18,000 liters smuggled Iranian diesel. The Customs team arrested the driver of the oil tanker.
During another crackdown Customs Gwadar authorities raided at a godown and recovered 100 drums of Iranian brake oil. The market value of seized Iranian brake oil is Rs 1.4 million. Customs authorities registered a case of smuggling against accused person and started investigations.
