Customs House starts routine work after Eid holidays

LAHORE: The Customs House Lahore has started doing its routine work after Eidul Fitar holidays with a view to achieve the assigned target set for the financial year 2016-17.

Sources said that as the financial year 2016-17 is approaching to its end, the officials are busy in their assigned duties and are working to achieve their targets.

An official told Customs Today that the officials of all the departments, including Collectorate of Customs Appraisement and Collectoarte of Customs Preventive have showed their maximum presence in the offices as the financial year is going to be end on June 30 (today) . He said that the officials from top to bottom were busy in assist one another to achieve the target.

Earlier, the Customs Central Region exceeded duty and taxes collection target by 7 percent by collecting Rs156.527 billion during the financial year 2015-16 against the assigned target of Rs 146.219 billion.

The four Collectorates of Central Region including Customs Preventive, Customs Appraisement Lahore , Faisalabad and Multan collectively made it possible and exceeded the revenue collection target.

Customs Appraisement collected Rs68557 million by registering a growth of 12 percent against proposed target of collection of duty and taxes Rs60967 million.
