It was told by the official sources of the Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Quetta that, during above said period, the Customs House Tafatan (CHT) generated Rs149.60million of Customs Duty (CD) while it did Rs170.93million under the head of Sales Tax (ST).
The sources informed Customs Today that, during first 15 days of March FY17-18, the CHT earned Rs61.25million as With Holding Tax (WHT) whereas it got Rs14.165million of Federal Excise Duty (FED).
The sources told CT that performance of the CHT has become better after establishing a “Help Desk” at Tafatan Customs Station in order to facilitate the importers and exporters to get their WeBOC IDs for trading. It was stated that Pakistan Customs has put all the export and import consignments’ record into the WeBOC system in order to ensure transparency in the trade through Tafatan Customs Station.
Now the importers and exporters could enlist their record in the WeBOC at the CHT whereas they have provided the system of IDs in order to save them from any inconvenience. It was further stated that the One Customs System activated is non-operational from corresponding March 2017. Sources further said that it may be mentioned here that the FBR authorities’ initiative made import/export safer.
