Customs Intelligence seizes 196,000 cigarette packs, 15,000 meters cloth

LAHORE: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized a container with 327 kilogram ball bearings of DPI brand, 15,000 meters foreign cloth and 196,000 packets of cigarettes, including Marlboro and Napoli brands.

The action was taken on the information provided by Intelligence and Investigation Director Imtiaz Ahmad Khan and Additional Director Mohsin Rafique.

The operation against the smugglers was conducted by the Deputy superintendents and inspectors Asad Farooq,  Arif Naveed,  Maqsood butt,  Zulfiqar, Nadeenm Ahsan,  Hamad Babar,  Abid Javaid,  Khwaja Zia, Muhammad Hussain and Asad Atta Rabani at Multan Road under the supervision of Superintendents including Nasir Minhas, Chudhary Fiaz and Munawar Khan.

According to the customs authorities the amount of the tax theft on confiscated goods was Rs 1969,277. The FIR has been lodged against accused for further investigation.

Director Imtiaz Ahmad Khan has ordered stern action against smugglers and there will be a zero tolerance policy for them.
