Customs I&I seizes plastic granules worth Rs2 million

LAHORE: Customs Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) seized plastic granules worth Rs2 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs600,000 in a raid near Kasur.

Sources told Customs Today that on the instruction of Director Imtiaz Ahmad Khan and Additional Director Mohsin Rafique I&I team raided the godown and recovered Iranian smuggled plastic granules.

The sources said that the total value of the seized items has been calculated at Rs2 million involving duty and taxes of Rs 0.6 million.

The raid was conducted by I&I anti-smuggling team consisting inspectors and other officials under the guidance of I&I Deputy Director Saad Atta Rabani, Customs Superintendents Nasir Minhas, Munawar and Fiaz.

The sources said that I&I has lodged FIR against two accused, however they could not be arrested.

While, I&I anti-smuggling team has initiated further investigations in this regard.
