Customs impounds container loaded with almond, raisins and peas seeds ‏

MULTAN: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized a container loaded with foreign origin consignment of almond, raisins and peas seeds.

According to details, a customs team intercepted a container loaded with foreign origin almond, raisins and seeds of peas from Qadir Pur Rawaa. During the anti-smuggling operation, the customs team recovered 244 sacks of foreign origin almonds and 210 sacks of raisins.

The customs authorities have also recovered 100 sacks seeds of peas in the operation which will be utilized in the cultivation of peas. The seeds brand of the peas were of New Zealand origin. Customs teams asked driver of the said container to provide legal documents of the foreign origin loaded goods. Upon failure of driver in providing any import documents regarding the import of the said goods.

Customs teams decided to seize the container after thorough examination of the goods inside the container. The loaded container was coming from Quetta and its destination was Gujranwala. The total worth of the seized container along with vehicle is almost Rs 2.5 million.
