Customs impounds non-duty paid vehicles worth Rs 24.2m ‏in May

ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate Islamabad (MCCI) impounded seven non-duty paid vehicles worth Rs24.2 million in the month of May.

Collector Dr Arslan Subutgeen told Customs Today that car cell of the Customs Preventive seized seven vehicles from May 1 to May 31, 2016.

He said that the car cell is working very efficiently under the instruction of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to curb smuggling activities.

The Collector said that the car cell seized different type of vehicles which were tampered.

Subtugeen told Customs Today said that all the offending vehicle were impounded in the jurisdiction of MCC Islamabad, including a Toyota Crown car Reg No IDC-878 worth Rs 2 million.

The other vehicle Mitsubishi Inter cooler Jeep, registered No LZJ-5958, 1997 was booked because its frame was changed its value was Rs 1.8 million another vehicle Toyota corolla car No SA-008-ICT Model 1996 its value was Rs1.2 million the Collector said.

He said that another seized Toyota Corolla car No ADE-6241 Model-1997 due to NDP status its value was Rs 1.2 million the Toyota land cruiser No EH 466 model 2004 was seized due to NDP status its value was Rs 6,000,000.

One Mercedes-Benz car impended with status of NDP its model No 2010 and No was S-550 its value was Rs 10 million and one Toyota crown was impound due to body part changed with no of IDA 79 its model was 1982 but the physical model of the car was 1992 (as per book) its value was Rs 2 million the Collector of MCC Islamabad said.
