Customs Intelligence auctions Toyota Mark 11 for Rs 1.75m

SIALKOT: The Custom Intelligence and Investigation Department, Gujranwala Region auctioned a vehicle the other day.

The office Superintendent of Customs Intelligence told Customs Today that the auctioned vehicle was Toyota Mark 11. He said that Superintendent Muhammad Rauf Farooqi got permission from the higher authorities for the auction of the vehicle because the vehicle test was confirmed by the laboratory concerned whereas Adjudication Court announced a judgment in favor of the department.

He said four parties participated in auction and one party gave bid of Rs 1.75 million which the auction committee accepted. He said that the department will auction other vehicles which were impounded some days ago. He said that these impounded vehicles will be sent to laboratory for test and after the test the cases will be referred to the Adjudication court for proceedings. The learned court will announce judgment in favor of department then department will authorize to auction of these impounded vehicles. He said that the other confiscated items will auction after October 10, 2016 after prior permission of higher authorities of department.
