KARACHI: The Custom Intelligence and Investigation confiscated 27 pieces of laptop worth Rs 1.1 million during an action.
On the directions of Custom Intelligence-anti-smuggling Director Margoob Ahmed Siddiqui, Additional Director Nadeem Ahsan and Assistant Director Kaleemullah formed a team.
Under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent Hajji Aslam, the intelligence team comprising Inspectors Parwez Ahmed Zardari, Muhammad Aqmal Hashmi, Rana Ansram, Munwar Ali, and Khuram Saeed conducted a raid following credible information near Regal Chowk and Naaz Plaza and intercepted a hand trolley, loaded with 27 laptops of assorted brands.
The officials took the laptops into custody after finding them non-duty paid, while further investigations on the case are underway.
Custom Intelligence Additional Director Nadeem Ahsan said that after the visit of Director General Imtiaz Ahmed, the Custom Intelligence has seized numbers of non-customs paid goods, including vehicles, cosmetic items, Iranian diesel and engine oil. He further said that the department will continue the action against smuggling until its elimination.
