Customs Intelligence earns Rs 14.2m through auction of vehicles, goods‏

MULTAN: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation has collected Rs 14.2 million through auction of impounded vehicles and goods.

The Customs Intelligence sold 14 out of 15 vehicles of various brands in the auction. The auctioned vehicle included Toyota Premio, Toyota Vitz, Toyota Corolla X, Toyota Hilux Surf, Suzuki Alto, Mercedes Benz, Toyota Crown and Toyota Hiace Van.

These successfully auctioned vehicles were impounded by the Customs Intelligence and Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) a few months ago during their extensive anti-smuggling campaign.

One vehicle was dropped from the auction due to non-availability of its chemical examination report. Customs have sold only one lot of 17 dismantled vehicles which were found tampered during the laboratory examination.

During the auction, various items were not publicly sold due to inattention of bidders.  Deputy Director Naveed ur Rehman Bughvi supervised the whole auction process along with staff members.
