LAHORE: The Excise and Taxation Department and Customs Intelligence have seized 27 vehicles during a combine crackdown against defaulters of token tax and unregistered vehicles.
Sources told Customs Today that the Excise Department has started a campaign to curb tax evasion with the collaboration of Customs Intelligence. Both departments established checkpoints at Liberty and Defense Housing Society and seized 27 unregistered vehicles on February 9 and 10.
The combine team stopped more than 200 vehicles and examines their documents through latest systems and online verification software. 27 vehicles were found unregistered. Excise team seized the vehicles until the clearance of dues.
