Customs Intelligence foils bid to smuggle cigarettes

FAISALABAD: The Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation has seized non duty paid cigarettes worth Rs13,00,000 from M/S Asia Cargo Service Railway road Faisalabad during operation.

Talking to Customs Today Deputy Director Muhammad Azam said that in pursuance of intelligence shared by Director I&I Zuliqar Younas the customs intelligence constituted a special team to crackdown foreign origin cigarettes.

The team raided a warehouse and recovered Milano brand 20,000 cIgaretteS, Marlbro gold original brand 10,000 Cigarette, Ashim luxary brand 10,000 cigarette, business club exclusive brand 10,000 cigarette, More international brand 3,000 cigarettes, Danldoff brand 5,000 cigarette, Dunhil switch brand 6,000 cigarette, and Benson and Hedges blue gold brand 3,000 cigarette of non duty paid and arrested the owner of the cargo service who was identified as Sajjad Ali.

The team participated in this seizure operation comprised of Superintendent Amjad khalid and Intelligence Inspector Irshad ali, Muhammad Siddique, Muhammad Saleem.
