LAHORE: Customs intelligence and investigation impounded four luxury vehicles from various localities during the month of August.
Sources told Customs Today that the Customs Intelligence impounded Toyota Mark-X BDV/487 on information from Depalpur bypass in Qasoor, the vehicle valued Rs1.7 million. The accused from whom the vehicle was seized introduced himself as Samiullah.
Similarly the Car Cell seized Land Cruiser PD/941 from Manawan police. The value of the vehicle was estimated at Rs 1.789 million including all the duty and taxes. The vehicle was seized inspector Muratab Mushtaq on information from accused Hamaza Javaid resident of Sialkot.
In a separate action the Car cell seized another Toyota Mark-X from near Sabzazar from Hymauoon Asghar. The Customs authorities also seized Toyota Hilux Surf worth Rs 1.7 million near FC College, Gulberg. The Customs officials intercepted the Toyota Hilux BD/7554 and demanded from the driver for legal documents but he failed to provide same.
On the special direction of Superintendent Yasin Malik, Director Saud Imran Ahmad and others who took part in the crackdowns included Muratab Mushataq, Rao Mansoor, Agha Sultan Haider, Sharafat Ali Hawalada and PA Maqsood. The customs authorities registering the case have initiated further investigation.
