Customs Intelligence impounds non-duty paid Toyota Surf worth Rs 2.6m

ISLAMABAD: Directorate General of Customs Intelligence and Investigation car cell team impounded a non-duty paid black Toyota Surf model 2014 worth Rs 2.6 million.

Sources told Customs Today that customs authorities received information that a Japanese origin Toyota Surf is being smuggled into federal territory. Additional director Intelligence and Investigation formed a team under the supervision of Superintendent Javed Akhtar Jahangiri which also includes Inspector Gul Nawaz and Kaleemullah. The team started checking of vehicles and found the vehicle near Markaz F-11.

The team asked the driver to show legal documents of the vehicle but he failed to provide any relevant documents and fled away leaving behind the vehicle.

During examination, it was found that chassis number of the vehicle is correct and is not cut and weld but its registration number is fake. Customs team parked the Toyota Surf in Warehouse and registered a case against unknown person.
