Customs Intelligence recovers non-duty paid Iranian tiles

LAHORE: Customs Intelligence and Investigation team has seized millions of rupees smuggled Iranian ceramic tiles from a truck which was coming from Quetta at Multan Road.

Sources told Customs Today that on secret information the anti-smuggling team intercepted a truck bearing registration no.TK 765 and seized 1500 cartons of non-duty paid Iranain tiles.

The cartons were being brought to Misri Shah market, the sources said, adding that value of the tiles determined at Rs4 million. The team that seized the tiles was consisting Superintendent Yasin Malik including inspectors and spoyes.  The tiles were seized on the directions of Director of Customs Intelligence and Investigations Saud Imran Ahmad.

The sources said that the customs authorities after registering a case has initiated further investigations.
