ISLAMABAD: The Director General Customs Intelligence and Investigation has stepped up its anti-smuggling campaign.
Sources informed Customs Today that this campaign is started on special instructions of Director General Customs Intelligence Imtiaz Ahmad Khan. The seized items include foreign origin cloth, non-duty paid vehicles, tea, tyres and tubes, auto parts, petrol, diesel, smuggled cigarettes and carpets.
Sources said that customs intelligence authorities also seized 435 kilograms of hashish. The market value of seized hashish is in billions of rupees in international market. The Customs authorities also arrested two accused persons and registered 120 cases during the said period.
