Customs Intelligence seized various foreign origin generators in their action

MULTAN: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office seized various foreign origin generators during their action on Thursday.

According to details, Customs Intelligence and Investigation received credible information from their source that foreign origin goods will be transported in the South Punjab.

Deputy Director Customs Intelligence Multan Office Khial Muhammad Khan formed special team led by, Inspector Malik Muhammad Nasir, Inspector Umer, Inspector Haq Nawaz and others. Customs Intelligence staff enhanced the patrolling of the Multan Region by alerting them to intercept coming goods.

During examination Customs Field Intelligence Unit (FIU) of Multan has intercepted the Hino truck on suspect of smuggling from Bahawalpur Bypass . The said truck was loaded with 13 foreign origin Green Power of Perkins Diesel with sound proof canopy generator of (140-200 KVA) and two foreign origin generator (25-30 kilowatt power with sound proof canopy.

Customs Intelligence teams asked the driver of the Mazda to produce the import documents regarding the loaded foreign origin power generator. Driver produced the import GDs to Customs Intelligence team of the said foreign origin generator but customs team found documents irrelevant and fake during examination.

Customs Intelligence teams decided to seize the foreign origin generator after completion of verification. The seized generator was non-duty paid. The value of the seized generator was almost Rs.1 million and levied duty taxes of Rs600,000
