KARACHI: The Customs Intelligence (Enforcement) during a recent raid impounded a 40-foot container full of non-duty paid goods.
According to sources, the clearing agent involved in this particular case had been most probably getting such containers cleared in the same manner, avoiding customs duty.
Sources said that the container had a large number of motorcycles, copper cables and other expensive goods. The investigation is underway against the clearing agent to find whether he had been involved in such activities during the past six months, and to ascertain how much duty he has paid for clearing the consignments.
