Customs Intelligence seizes contraband items, vehicles worth of Rs 11.51m

LAHORE: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and investigation has seized goods and vehicles worth Rs 11.513 million involving duty and taxes worth Rs 10.252 million during the last two month of the financial year 2016-17.

According to details, the directorate in its campaign registered 11 cases of non-duty paid items and vehicles. The collectorate seized four vehicles worth Rs 3.8 million involved in taxes of Rs 6.196 million. Vehicles were impounded included Mark-X, Land Cruisers and Toyota Corolla and other from various places in the city including Ravi Road, Multan Road and Iqbal Town.

The directorate of Customs Intelligence in other cases which involved miscellaneous items seized non customs paid tyres, tubes, auto spare parts, oil, electronic goods and other items.

The directorrate seized tyres and tubes worth of Rs3.5 million involving duty and taxes worth Rs 1.434 while it also confiscated auto/spare parts worth Rs 1.171 million involving duty and taxes worth Rs 841,013.

Similarly the directorate seized 96 litre of oil worth Rs 28,800 involving duty and taxes worth Rs 16,711 while the collectorate confiscated electronic items worth Rs710,000 involving duty and taxes worth Rs 417,302.

The directorate seized miscellaneous goods and articles worth Rs 2.3 million involving duty and taxes worth Rs 1.345 million.

On the whole the directorate was able to seize Rs 11.513 million goods involving duty and taxes worth Rs 10.252 million. The seizures were conducted under the supervision of Superintendent Malik Yasin.
