PESHAWAR: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence & Investigation has seized drugs worth millions from a vehicle near Nowshera.
Customs Intelligence Director General Shaukat Ali directed a team to raid a vehicle after being tipped-off. The Customs officials conducted snap checking of vehicles at Rashakai Interchange.
During the operation, a suspected vehicle fled the security post despite being signalled to stop. However, after a while, the driver stopped his vehicle by a roadside and escaped after a brief chase.
Search of the vehicle led to the seizure of 25 kilograms of high-quality hashish and three kilograms of opium. According to the Customs Intelligence, they seized drugs worth Rs3.9 million in the international market.
