Customs Intelligence seizes smartphones, dinner sets

KARACHI: Quetta Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized a huge quantity of dinner sets and smartphones during two successful raids.

Director Customs Intelligence received information that a huge quantity of dinner sets were being smuggled from Iran to Pakistan. Consequently, he formed a team under the supervision of Deputy Director of Customs Intelligence.  The Customs team included Preventive officials Asadullah Khan, Waseem Khan and others. The team established check –posts at exit points of the city and started checking of vehicles. During the checking of vehicles the team intercepted a suspicious truck. While the checking of vehicles the team recovered more than 100 dinner sets which were smuggled from the Iran. The team seized the items and the truck which was used in smuggling. The team also arrested two persons at the time of raids. Customs Intelligence officials told that the estimated value of seized items and truck is more than Rs 4 million.

In another operation, Customs Intelligence staff seized a huge quantity of smartphones. Deputy Director Customs Intelligence Received information smartphones were supplied from out city in a car. Deputy Director comprising a team under his own supervision and started the checking of vehicles. While the Checking of vehicles the team intercepted a car and recovered 100 smartphones. The seized the smartphones and arrested two persons who were involved in guilty smuggling.
