ISLAMABAD: The Directorate General Customs Intelligence and Investigation Federal Board of Revenue during first five and half months (till 15th December) in different country wide operations has seized non duty paid smuggled goods amounting to Rs. 1528.6 million including diesel, petrol, cigarettes, smuggled and offending vehicles, blankets, carpets, food grains, timber, foreign origin cloth, tyers and tubes, black tea and electronics items.
Sources told Customs Today that in separate action against drugs smugglers Directorate General Customs Intelligence and Investigations seized 418 kilograms of charas, 10 kilograms of opium and 2400 kilograms of poppy seeds.
Sources said that customs authorities also lodged 582 FIRs and arrested 13 persons. Sources said that customs authorities seized electronics goods worth Rs. 56.34 million, 17,39,140 liters diesel worth 84.55 million, 187 offending vehicles worth Rs. 255.58 million , numbers of 236 non duty paid smuggled vehicles worth Rs. 589.35 million, smuggled foreign origin cloth worth Rs. 56.76 million, arms and ammunition worth Rs. 5.2 million, toiletries worth Rs.11.97 million, gutka worth Rs.10 million, toys worth Rs. 1.55 million, 1,26,936 kilograms black tea Rs.54.94 million, 68690 numbers of cigarettes dandas worth Rs. 16.61 million and different goods including perfumes worth Rs. 356.53 million.
