Customs Intelligence seizes vegetable cooking oil worth Rs 4m‏

MULTAN: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan Range Office has seized foreign origin vegetable cooking oil.

Sources told Customs Today that the Customs Intelligence and Investigation team intercepted an oil tanker filled with vegetable oil in Dera Ghazi Khan region. The driver of the oil tanker provided the import documents of the soap manufacturing oil to the Customs squad on their demand to prove their import lawful.

The Customs Intelligence and Investigation team also collected sample of vegetable oil for chemical examination. The chemical examination of the said oil samples revealed that soap manufacturing oil was not present in its ingredients and they found cooking oil ingredients during laboratory examination. The import documents were also proved forged after the chemical examination.

Customs teams seized the oil tanker on the misdeclaration and attempt of smuggling vegetable cooking oil was foiled by Customs teams. Customs teams seized the vegetable cooking oil of estimated worth Rs4 million during this action.
