LAHORE: Customs Intelligence has started establishing mobile checkpoints at entrance and exit points of the city on daily basis.
According to sources Customs Intelligence has checkpoints at Shera kot, Thokar Niaz baig and kala Shah Kaku tool plaza but now after increasing complaints against the department, customs has started mobile checkpoints at different points of the city. Customs Intelligence on Friday Night after 12 AM established a special checkpoint at Shahdra and checked number of vehicles. Vehicles checked by the customs intelligence include loaded trucks and other loading vehicles.
According to sources this step has taken after increase in cases of smuggling in Lahore as number of heavy quantity of different items have been seized in current week from the city including LEDs and mobile phones.
