KARACHI: The Directorate General of Internal Audit has detected a tax evasion to the tune of Rs 8 million on the import of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) through under-invoicing.
As per details, Sofia Traders, Power Gas and Haripur Gas Limited imported LPG through Model Customs Collectorate Port Qasim and the actual value of the consignments was Rs 2.015 billion. But the importers declared the amount as Rs 981.6 million causing loss to the national economy.
The Customs Internal Audit found that the said importers have not followed the valuation ruling related to the LPG at the time of import.
